Bengaluru: Around 20 children on a bus belonging to a school from a premier network of private, co-educational institutions had a miraculous escape Monday morning: The vehicle, suspected to have brake failure, moved backwards on a slope and stopped after hitting an electric pole in Mahalakshmi Layout, northwest Bengaluru.The bus was picking up students, most of them primary schoolchildren, from Nandini Layout, Mahalakshmi Layout and Rajajinagar I Block before heading to the school. The driver was moving upwards when the bus, for some reason, suddenly stopped. When the driver tried to apply brakes, they did not work, and the vehicle suddenly moved backwards. It stopped after hitting an electric pole,” sources said.
