Bengaluru: The Supreme Court issued notice specifically in respect of two paragraphs (77 and 78) of the Karnataka high court judgment in relation to Bangalore Mysore Infrastructure Corridor (BMIC) project and stayed operation of those paragraphs pending further consideration.A bench of Justices Sanjay Kumar and K Vinod Chandran passed this order February 16 after hearing an appeal filed by NICE company.

While dismissing the writ petition in its Jan 9 judgment, a high court division bench observed that even after 25 years, the project remained on paper as only 1km of road was laid. Hence, the state govt must decide on fresh planning by discarding the framework agreement (FWA) at the earliest to improve the city’s living conditions.
