Satyanarayan Vrat April 2026: Significance
Satayanarayan Vrat is considered as one of the most sacred fasts in Hindu religion. This month, people will observe this fast on Purnima tithi of shukla paksha in the month of Chaitra. This fast is dedicated to honor the Lord Vishnu. Satyanarayan form of Bhagwan Vishnu is worshipped on this day. The day holds a great religious and spiritual significance among Hindus. People offer their sincere prayers to Lord Vishnu and devotees get engaged in various spiritual and religious activities. They observe fast from dawn to dusk, perform puja, chant mantras that are associated with Lord Vishnu and visit the Lakshmi Narayan temple to seek blessings of the Lord and the Goddess. It is believed that on this very day, the sacred divine rays of Moon falls on earth. The intuition power is highly activated on this particular day and people can seek blessings of Moon God also by offering water. This fast fulfills the desired wishes of the devotees. Some devotees perform Satyanarayan puja on Chaturdashi Tithi as it depends on tithi timings and this can be checked through Hindu Panchang.
Satyanarayan Puja 2026: Puja Rituals
Wake up early in the morning clean the house and puja room and then take a holy bath. After that, take a wooden plank on which you can place an idol of Lord Vishnu along with Shri Yantra (the form of Goddess Lakshmi). There is no fix time to perform this puja so you can perform it any time. Some people organise puja and get it done through a qualified priest. Chant various mantras associated with Lord Vishnu. Recite the Satyanarayan Aarti and then perform Lakshmi Ramana aarti and Om Jai Jagdish aarti. Puja is considered incomplete without offering tulsi patra to Lord Vishnu. Offer panjeeri (roasted wheat flour, mix sugar powder in that and add banana pieces in that bhog) and panchamrit (a mixture of milk, curd, sugar powder, ghee and honey). After completing all the puja rituals, you should offer water to Moon and then your puja wil be considered completed. You can break your fast after distributing the bhog prasad among family members.
