An Indian-origin man found dead at a Toronto home last week has been identified as a homicide victim, police said.Satwant “Sonny” Sangha, 41, of Toronto, was found deceased at a residence near McGill Street and Church Street in downtown Toronto, according to the Toronto Police.Officers were called to the property at around 1:43 am on Friday, August 21, after receiving a report of a sudden death. Police attended the residence and found Sangha dead.An autopsy was later conducted and found signs of trauma on his body, leading investigators to classify the death as a homicide.Sangha’s death is the 23rd homicide recorded in Toronto in 2026, as per the report.Authorities have not released further details about the nature of the injuries and how Sangha died. Police have also not announced any arrests or identified a suspect in connection with the case.Last month, another Indian-origin woman, 26-year-old Navneet Kaur, was fatally shot in a targeted attack in Toronto. Police later arrested a 37-year-old Brampton man and charged him with first-degree murder.The investigation is underway.
