Lucknow: Terming Artificial Intelligence (AI) a decisive turning point in global development that is reshaping governance, economic growth and employment structures worldwide, Sarojininagar MLA Rajeshwar Singh called for urgent policy and skill reforms.Citing estimates from the World Economic Forum, he said that by 2027, nearly 23% of global jobs are expected to undergo transformation. While AI may generate around 69 million new jobs, nearly 83 million roles could be disrupted. He also pointed out that 86% of employers believe AI will alter business models by 2030, yet 48% of students feel unprepared for AI-enabled workplaces, highlighting a serious skill gap.Singh described this phase as India’s “strategic AI moment”, noting that the country is moving from adoption to aspiring to global leadership in responsible and inclusive AI.He praised the Uttar Pradesh govt’s ₹225 crore allocation for the UP AI Mission in the 2024–25 budget, calling it a visionary step towards AI innovation, digital governance and AI labs in ITIs.At the constituency level, Sarojininagar is emerging as a digital skills hub through smart classrooms, digital libraries and free AI training initiatives.Warning against deepfakes and AI-driven misinformation, Singh stressed the need for strong data protection, cybersecurity and ethical AI frameworks.
