Patna: CM Samrat Choudhary on Thursday performed the bhoomi pujan for construction of a G+6 science block and auditorium on the Magadh Mahila College (MMC) campus in the state capital, and interacted with students about their academic aspirations and career plans.Addressing the gathering, Choudhary said the state govt’s priority was “Mahilaon ki unnati, Bihar ki pragati,” adding that quality education, modern facilities and adequate opportunities for Bihar’s daughters and sisters were essential to building a developed and prosperous state. He said the govt was strengthening higher education infrastructure and that the new science block would give students a better, modern environment for studying science subjects. “The facility will help prepare students for opportunities in higher education, research and employment,” he said.During his interaction with students, Choudhary said girls were showing their talent in every field of education and the govt was working to ensure they had the resources and facilities needed to advance. He urged them to set clear goals and pursue them with hard work and self-confidence.“Women and daughters had a key role in realizing the goals of Viksit Bharat and Samriddh Bihar,” the CM said. In line with “Bahnon ka samman, sarkar ki pehchan,” he said, the govt continued to prioritize women’s education, safety, dignity and self-reliance. Educated and self-reliant women formed the foundation of a prosperous Bihar, he added.Students shared their problems and offered suggestions during the session. Choudhary asked them to speak without fear about their concerns, saying he had come to understand the college’s educational needs and ways to improve MMC. Meeting research scholars, he said the Mukhyamantri Balika PhD Fellowship Yojana had been launched to encourage more women students to take up research. He also said Police Didi personnel had been deployed during teaching hours to prevent anti-social activities on educational institution premises. The project is expected to expand academic capacity.
