Rohtak: Haryana chief minister Nayab Singh Saini on Thursday said the state govt was in touch with the Centre regarding extension of the metro connectivity up to Sampla in Rohtak district. Addressing an election rally during the Sampla municipal committee poll campaign, the CM has urged the voters to support BJP candidate Parveen Coach and party-backed ward candidates in the May 10 civic polls.Saini claimed that the BJP fulfilled its commitments, unlike opposition parties, which “forget their promises after elections”. He added that out of 217 commitments made by the govt, 63 were already fulfilled within one-and-a-half years, while work on the remaining promises was progressing rapidly.Referring to Sampla as the ‘karmabhoomi’ of farmer leader Chaudhary Chhotu Ram, the chief minister said the large turnout at the rally reflected strong public support for BJP candidates. He asserted that if a “triple engine govt” was formed in Sampla after May 10, the pace of development in the town would increase threefold.Highlighting govt welfare initiatives, Saini said the state had provided 25,000 govt jobs “without parchi and kharchi (without nepotism and bribes)”. He also mentioned free dialysis facilities for kidney patients, subsidised LPG cylinders for poor families, housing schemes for economically weaker sections, and benefits under the Ayushman Bharat and Chirayu schemes. The chief minister assured the residents that local issues, including line-par connectivity, water supply, underpasses and street infrastructure, would be addressed on priority. During the rally, several local representatives, including block committee members and sarpanches from Sampla and Rohtak areas, joined the BJP in the presence of state BJP president Mohan Lal Badoli.Cooperation minister Arvind Sharma also addressed the gathering and claimed the BJP was receiving strong public support across Sampla ahead of the civic elections.
