Srinagar, Oct 13: Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Conference president Sajjad Lone on Tuesday opposed the Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board’s proposed move to pre-vet and decide topics for Friday sermons through a committee, terming it interference in religious freedom and the autonomy of the pulpit.
In a post on X, Sajjad lone wrote, Pre-vetting & deciding Friday sermons through a J&K Waqf Board committee is direct interference in religious freedom and pulpit autonomy. The pulpit belongs to faith, not government micromanagement. Hands off our mosques.”
