Says every pilgrim should leave with enriching experience
Reviews preparations at Baltal; directs robust coordination, safety
Baltal, Jun 28: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday said that preparations for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra have been carried out over the past several months through coordinated efforts of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB), the Jammu and Kashmir Administration, security agencies, and the Government of India, expressing confidence that this year’s pilgrimage will be safer, smoother, and better managed than ever before.
Speaking to reporters after reviewing the arrangements at the Baltal axis, the Lieutenant Governor said all departments and stakeholders have worked in close coordination to ensure comprehensive preparations for the annual pilgrimage. He noted that significant improvements have been made in infrastructure, security, healthcare, sanitation, logistics, and other essential services compared to previous years.
LG Sinha said that extensive arrangements have been put in place to facilitate a safe, secure, and hassle-free pilgrimage for devotees. He highlighted that security agencies have implemented a robust security framework, while civil departments have ensured adequate healthcare facilities, emergency response mechanisms, sanitation services, accommodation, and other pilgrim amenities.
During his visit to the Baltal base camp, the Lieutenant Governor conducted an on-ground inspection of various facilities and chaired a high-level review meeting with senior officials. He directed all stakeholder departments to ensure that every essential amenity is fully operational before the commencement of the Yatra and instructed officials to maintain the highest standards of coordination and preparedness throughout the pilgrimage.
“My priority is that every pilgrim can undertake this sacred journey with complete safety and comfort and return home with a truly enriching and spiritually fulfilling experience,” LG Sinha said.
Describing the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra as a symbol of faith, devotion, and collective celebration, the Lieutenant Governor said the arrangements should reflect the spirit of the pilgrimage by ensuring that every devotee receives proper care, assistance, and support during the journey.
Expressing satisfaction over the overall preparedness, LG Sinha reiterated that every possible measure has been taken to strengthen security, improve infrastructure, enhance medical facilities, streamline traffic and logistics management, and provide better sanitation and civic amenities, ensuring that devotees can undertake the annual pilgrimage in a safe, peaceful, and well-organised environment.
The meeting was attended by K.N. Rai, Member, Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board; DGP Nalin Prabhat; Special DG Coordination S.J.M. Gillani; Principal Secretary to Lieutenant Governor and CEO Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board Dr Mandeep K. Bhandari; Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Anshul Garg; Managing Director JKPDCL and Nodal Officer for Baltal Axis Rahul Yadav; IGP Kashmir V.K. Birdi; IGP Traffic M. Suleman Choudhary; DIG CKR Rajiv Omprakashn; Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal Jatin Kishore; SSP Ganderbal Sudhanshu Dhama; Director Information Shreya Singhal; DG Rural Sanitation Anoo Malhotra; and senior officers of civil administration, police, and security forces.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal presented a comprehensive overview of the preparations of line departments ahead of the annual yatra. The Senior Superintendent of Police, Ganderbal, briefed the meeting on the security plan, including deployment of personnel, area domination, surveillance measures, access control, traffic management, and emergency response mechanisms. The Lieutenant Governor reviewed infrastructure, security measures, and overall arrangements to ensure all preparations are complete.
