Jaipur: City police Monday busted an alleged examination fraud racket ahead of the Rajasthan University of Health Sciences (RUHS) paramedical examinations and arrested four people, including the director of a private college, for allegedly conspiring to facilitate organised cheating by ensuring the deployment of favourable invigilators at an examination centre.Deputy Commissioner of Police (Jaipur West) Prashant Kiran said police received intelligence on June 27 that a racket was collecting money from students by promising assistance during the RUHS paramedical examinations scheduled between June 29 and July 3.According to police, the conspiracy centred on Prabha Devi Memorial PG College at Kabri Dungri on Kalwar Road, which had been designated as the examination centre for students of S Karan College, Mukundgarh in Jhunjhunu district.Acting on the tip-off, police constituted a special investigation team under additional DCP Rajesh Gupta, ACP Shiv Kumar Bhardwaj and Khorabisal SHO Surendra Singh.During the investigation, police detained Krishna Kumar Saini (27) and Shankar Lal Jat (27) alias Bajia. Searches led to the seizure of two diaries allegedly containing the names of students and records of money collected from candidates seeking help in the examinations. Police also recovered mobile phones containing PDF copies of candidates’ admit cards and WhatsApp chats allegedly related to the conspiracy.Based on the evidence, police arrested Ramkrishna Mandiwal (27) and Devkrishna Mandiwal (50) , who are associated with Prabha Devi Memorial PG College.Investigators said Saini was the head of the paramedical dept at S Karan College, while Jat worked as a lecturer in its paramedical and radiology dept.Police alleged the accused had planned to ensure the posting of favourable invigilators so that around 40-45 academically weak students, including candidates who had failed earlier examinations, could cheat in exchange for large sums of money. The management of the examination centre allegedly collected money to influence invigilator deployment and provide undue advantage to these candidates.Police said the conspiracy was foiled before the examinations began, preventing the plan from being executed. All four accused have been remanded to police custody.
