Ranchi: A discussion on Dr Shobha Vijendra’s book ‘Shatayu Sangh and Women’s Participation’, organised as part of the RSS centenary celebrations at Audrey House on Monday, highlighted women’s role in nation-building, decision-making and society. The book was formally launched in March this year; Monday’s programme discussed its central themes.Governor Santosh Gangwar said women’s contribution must extend beyond the family to politics, administration, education, industry and other sectors. “Women’s participation should not be measured only by numbers; their effective participation in decision-making is equally important,” he said.He said women’s growing presence in panchayats and local bodies had shown their ability to handle administrative responsibilities with efficiency and sensitivity. Linking women’s empowerment with Viksit Bharat 2047, he said an educated and empowered woman can influence families and future generations.Author Shobha Vijendra said the publication examines women’s experiences and perspectives associated with the broader Sangh thought. She said she interacted with nearly 100 women during her research, with the experiences of 34 finding place in the book.“The Indian perspective sees women and men as complementary rather than competing with each other,” she said. Speakers said the work adds to discussions on women’s public leadership during the organisation’s centenary year.
