Jhansi: Minister for urban development and energy AK Sharma inaugurated the Gursarai-Garautha combined reorganisation drinking water scheme here on Friday. The project built at a cost of Rs 83.24 crore, aimed at providing safe and regular drinking water to thousands of residents in Jhansi district.The project, covering Gursarai Nagar Palika Parishad and Garautha Nagar Panchayat, is expected to supply treated drinking water to nearly 7,740 households through a modern water treatment and distribution network.Addressing the gathering, the minister described the scheme as more than just an infrastructure project, saying it would significantly improve the health, dignity and quality of life of thousands of families by ensuring access to clean and safe drinking water.Highlighting the state government’s focus on the development of Bundelkhand, the minister said major investments were being made in drinking water, power supply and infrastructure across the region.Sharma also referred to the ongoing development of the Defence Corridor and large-scale solar power projects in the region, stating that these initiatives are creating new opportunities for investment and employment.
