Hyderabad: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of South Central Railway (SCR) rescued a total of 120 children, including 96 boys and 24 girls, during April.The children were rescued after being found separated or lost from their families. They were safely handed over to the respective Child Welfare Committees (CWCs).Furthermore, the RPF rescued five boys from suspected human trafficking and arrested two traffickers in connection with the case.In an effort to curb theft and improve railway security, the RPF registered 71 cases, arrested 79 offenders and recovered stolen property worth Rs 54.52 lakh. As part of ‘Operation Amanat,’ RPF personnel helped passengers to recover lost belongings. A total of 319 items, valued at Rs 83.35 lakh, were retrieved and returned to their owners.In a crackdown on narcotics smuggling through the railways, the RPF conducted ‘Operation Narcos,’ seizing ganja worth Rs 86.17 lakh. Sixteen individuals were arrested and handed over to the relevant authorities for further action.
