Coimbatore: A 28-year-old history-sheeter was arrested on Saturday, for violating an externment order and re-entering the city limits.The arrested has been identified as R Karthik of Chokkampudur. He was arrested by Selvapuram police near a meat shop in his locality. Police said Karthik has several pending criminal cases. To maintain public order, the city police commissioner had issued 51A summons on February 16, directing Karthik to stay outside the Coimbatore city police jurisdiction for six months.Despite the order, police received information that he had secretly returned to the city and was allegedly involved in rowdy activities, creating fear among residents. Based on the tip-off, a special team of Selvapuram police increased surveillance in Chokkampudur, leading to his arrest. A case was registered and he was produced before a court and later remanded to prison.
