Ranchi: Enforcement teams of Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) on Monday dismantled illegal stalls and temporary structures around two key educational institutes of the city to clear footpaths and ensure safe transit for students. Civic body officials said anti-encroachment drive will be conducted near educational hubs across the state capital in the coming days.RMC teams on Monday dismantled stalls around Ranchi Women’s College and St Xavier’s College. Additional Municipal Commissioner Sanjay Kumar said, “The drive will continue across the city around all educational institutions to ensure that students, be it school or college going, do not face problems while commuting. The crackdown will now also be extended in areas near hospitals and other locations where essential public amenities are located, along with encroachment on govt land.”Clearing illegal roadside vendors will reopen critical pedestrian zones, offering immediate relief to students, faculty, and general citizens navigating these busy institutional belts, said officials.Issuing a stern warning, RMC officials cautioned that repeat offenders occupying roads or footpaths will face strict action under municipal regulations.
