Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy will address a public meeting in Pippiri village of the Boath assembly constituency in Adilabad district on Monday, in connection with completion of three years of peoples’ march — a pada yatra of over 1,300 km taken up by then CLP leader Bhatti Vikramarka ahead of the 2023 assembly elections.The CM would lay foundation and inaugurate works worth 170 crore, and give away various scheme benefits to the people, which were promised by Bhatti during his pada yatra.Deputy CM Bhatti would also speak on the occasion. The programme is also part of the ongoing 99-day ‘Praja Palana-Pragati Pranalika’ celebrations. Several people, especially farmers, had complained to Bhatti then about the problems they were facing due to the Dharani portal, where assigned land parcels were placed under restricted categories. “Such problems are now being addressed through the newly introduced Bhu Bharati Act to restore farmers’ rights,” Bhatti Vikramarka said during a review meeting recently.During the pada yatra, people represented to Bhatti their grievances and also placed their demands. Bhatti had promised them housing, farm loan waiver, gas cylinder at subsidised rate, to enhance Aarogyasri limit, free bus travel to women and a few other promises. Most of these promises were being implemented now in the form of Indiramma housing, 2 lakh farm loan waiver, free travel to women in RTC buses,” Bhatti said.The pada yatra also played a role in bringing Congress to power in Telangana, with the party winning 26 out of 36 constituencies covered during the pada yatra, a senior Congress leader said.Irrigation projects, especially canal works, have been expedited and approvals were being processed for projects like Chikuman, Pulimadugu and Kufti Triveni Sangamam. The tribal welfare initiatives include the Congress govt having rolled out Indira Soura Giri Jala Vikasam for irrigation, interest-free loans for tribal women’s self-employment, officials said.Action was being taken on issues raised by the Mesram community during visits to Keslapur Nagoba temple. Large-scale sanctioning of Indiramma houses, especially in tribal and agency areas, with flexibility to accept excess applications.Revanth Reddy would distribute documents related to the implementation of assurances made to various sections during the pada yatra by Bhatti. As per the schedule, the CM would visit Basara temple in the morning and offer prayers before proceeding to Pippiri to address the public meeting in the afternoon.
