Revanth scared of Modi, fears PM will send him to jail again: KTR

Hyderabad: Taking a dig at chief minister for giving away land to build Damagundam Navy Radar Station in Vikarabad district, BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Sunday said “Revanth Reddy is afraid of Prime Minister Narendra Modi”.Speaking at BRS general body meeting in Vikarabad, the former minister said that while BRS refused to give land for the project during their tenure, Revanth has sanctioned it immediately as “he is scared that Modi will put him back in jail by getting his bail cancelled”.“When land was sought in Damagundam for a Navy radar station, we did not give it. KCR (K Chandrasekhar Rao) refused because 12 lakh trees would have been cut down. Revanth Reddy is afraid of Modi. The moment Modi asked, 2,900 acres were handed over. He is cutting down trees here while saying he will improve the Musi,” KTR added. He questioned how they could believe Congress when it says that they would develop Musi. “BJP and Congress together are strangling the Musi. They tried to obstruct the Palamuru-Rangareddy project, which would provide water to 10,000 acres in the Vikarabad constituency, by filing court cases,” he added.KTR alleged that Congress stalled Palamuru-Rangareddy project because its completion would remind people of KCR. “We completed 90% of the work, but after Congress came to power, they sidelined the project,” he added.Reacting to Vikarabad MLA and speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar’s comments on debts left behind by the KCR govt, KTR said that a speaker holding a constitutional post only diminishes his own dignity by making such remarks.“When BRS came to power in 2014, the debt was Rs 72,000 crore. By the time KCR left the office, it stood at Rs. 3.52 lakh crore, meaning the additional debt taken was only Rs. 2.8 lakh crore. When KCR was in power, urea was available. Why is it unavailable now? During KCR’s tenure, there was 24-hour electricity. Now, there are power cuts. Rythu Bandhu used to come on time, and farm loan waivers were implemented,” he said, adding that the speaker has become like Dhritarashtra, who is unable to see wrongdoings of Congress and Revanth.
