Mysuru: State-run residential schools have recorded 99.8% results in CM Siddaramaiah‘s and social welfare minister HC Mahadevappa’s home district, for the 2025-26 SSLC exams.Last year, residential schools in Mysuru, had registered 84.9% results. Out of 1,397 students studying in 32 residential schools across the dist, 1,394 have successfully cleared the exams.Girls outshine boys in the residential schools results this year too. Chandana Hondada Nagaraj, who was studying in SC/ST residential school in Nanjangud, has secured 610 marks out of 625 marks, Rashi of Ramapura Residential School, KR Nagar taluk secured 605 marks, Dhanushri of Kittur Rani Residential School, Harave village has secured 603 marks, Vinutha of Morarji Desai Residential School, Horalahalli in T Narasipura taluk and Dhanya of Morarji Desai Residential School of KR Nagar taluk each have secured 602 marks, bringing laurels to the state-run educational institutions.Among them, more than 136 students have scored above 90% this year also, 336 students have scored above 80%, 360 hav scoed above 70%, 293 secured above 60%, and 187 students secured above 50%, while 89 students above 40%.The department of social welfare, OBC department operates a total of 38 residential schools through Karnataka Residential Educational Institutional Society (KREIS).Measures like completing syllabus portions by the end of Dec, encouraging students for revision, solving previous 10 years’ question papers, conducting preparatory exams four times a year, online and offline classes, special focus on slow learners and subject-wise training have yielded results, BN Mallesh, programme coordinator of tribal welfare department, told TOI.Speaking to TOI, joint director of social welfare department B Rangegowda said the department provided various facilities, including subject materials for state-run residential schools and regularly monitored the progress of SSLC exam preparations.
