Reliance Infrastructure Ltd has secured an arbitral award of ₹157.64 crore, along with interest, against the Mumbai Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (MMRDA) in a dispute over subordinated debt extended to Mumbai Metro One Pvt Ltd (MMOPL), the company said on Wednesday.
In a regulatory filing, Reliance Infrastructure said it received the arbitral award dated July 27, 2026, under which a three-member tribunal unanimously ruled in its favour.
The arbitration arose from subordinated debt provided by Reliance Infrastructure to MMOPL, the special purpose vehicle that operates Mumbai Metro Line 1 between Versova, Andheri and Ghatkopar. MMOPL is a joint venture in which Reliance Infrastructure holds a 74% stake, while MMRDA owns the remaining 26%.
The company said the arbitral tribunal, by a unanimous 3:0 majority, awarded ₹157.64 crore towards the cost of subordinated debt along with applicable interest against its claims.
