Ahmedabad: A dispute over an alleged relationship turned fatal in Dehgam on Saturday when four men allegedly abducted a 40-year-old man in broad daylight, took him to a canal in Kheda district and threw him into the water. Police later recovered his body with the help of divers and arrested all four suspects.The accused have been identified as Kiransinh Chauhan of Vasna Sogathi, Arvindsinh Parmar of Shiyavada, Sunilsinh Chauhan of Pahadbhai ni Muvadi and Vijaykumar Chauhan.According to police, the victim, Bharat Thakor, was abducted from Pankaj Society around 1.30 pm. CCTV footage allegedly showed four men surrounding him and forcing him into a white car. Investigators later traced the vehicle using its registration number.Bharat’s family approached the police after learning about the abduction.Police said the accused drove Bharat to a canal near Abhruji in Kheda district. Investigators alleged that three of the suspects consumed alcohol and ganja at the spot, while Kiran and Bharat were having a meal and talking. An argument allegedly broke out over a relationship dispute, following which the four men threw Bharat into the canal.The suspects fled in the car, but the vehicle later broke down after being involved in a collision. They then reportedly walked to a nearby village.Dehgam police traced the vehicle to its original owner, who told investigators that he had sold it to Arvind alias Veeru around four years ago. Technical surveillance subsequently led the police to the four accused.
