A caller claims your bank account will be blocked, your parcel is stuck or your mobile number is about to be disconnected. They sound convincing, know a few details about you and insist that you act immediately. Before you have time to verify anything, they ask for an OTP or direct you to an unfamiliar link.

Such calls can be difficult to assess because fraudsters often imitate legitimate organisations and use urgency to discourage questions. An unexpected call is not necessarily a scam, but requests for sensitive information, money or unusual access deserve particular caution.
