Mumbai: Shiv Sena (UBT) rebel MP Omprakash Rajenimbalkar on Friday said that while he did possess loyalty, it was of no use if he could not work for his constituency.Rajenimbalkar expressed his displeasure over the inactive nature of the Shiv Sena (UBT) leadership. “I can understand that party chief Uddhav Thackeray is not able to travel due to his ill health, but at least Yuva Sena chief Aaditya Thackeray should have toured the state. He should have toured and energised the workers, but unfortunately that did not happen,” he said.Rajenimbalkar said the Mahayuti leadership was not resting on its laurels and was taking active efforts to connect with the people.“CM Devendra Fadnavis and Dy CM Eknath Shinde are not sitting idly despite having so much strength and MLAs. They worked hard in the local body elections and now they are also taking to the field in the legislative council elections … . People want rural roads, bridges. I myself have given official proposals three times to install simple electricity units in the villages, but still the work is not being done. We neither have the necessary funds nor can we do the work. In such a situation, how will the problems of the people be solved?” he said.In an interview to a Marathi daily, Rajenimbalkar pointed a finger at the top leadership and working methods of Shiv Sena (UBT) top guns. “As an MP, I personally try my best to do the people’s work. Still, why don’t we come to power in the elections of the nagar parishad, panchayat samiti or zilla parishad? This question constantly arises in my mind. If this situation continues, then in the future, my own political existence will be in great danger. What exactly should I do as a people’s representative in such a dire situation?” he said.So far, Rajeimbalkar has not said that he has joined the rebel group that is expected to cross over to the Shiv Sena, only claiming that he was not in Delhi on Wednesday and Thursday and so could not attend the Shiv Sena (UBT) parliamentary party meeting on Thursday. “I have not gone to Delhi. After the 20th, I have decided to state my stand,” Nimbalkar has said. The Lok Sabha member from Osmanabad said there was pressure on him from party workers to join the Shiv Sena led by Dy CM Eknath Shinde. “I am in a big moral dilemma. If you think emotionally, this step seems wrong, but if you think from a political point of view, it is right,” he said.Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut recently said Rajenimbalkar was lured with promise of a “favourable verdict” in his father Pawan Rajenimbalkar’s murder case. “There is pressure on Om Rajenimbalkar that if he joins the Shinde Sena then he will get a favourable verdict from the court,” Raut had said. The court case is a trial stemming from the June 2006 assassination of Rajenimbalkar’s father, Congress politician Pawan Rajenimbalkar, and his driver in Navi Mumbai. A special CBI court in the city is scheduled to deliver its final verdict in the high-profile double murder case on June 20.Earlier it was scheduled to be delivered on June 14. Rajenimbalkar’s father and his driver, Samad Kazi, were shot dead in Kalamboli on June 3, 2006.
