FLAME University has appointed Professor Raunaq S. Pungaliya as Dean of the FLAME School of Business and ENAM Professor of Finance.
Professor Pungaliya joins the university from the SKK Graduate School of Business (SKK GSB), Seoul, where he served as Vice Dean, Professor of Finance and Director of the AI in Business Innovation Lab.
He holds a PhD in Finance from the University of Iowa and has academic expertise spanning corporate finance, asset management, business analytics and artificial intelligence.
At SKK GSB, he led the launch of programmes including the Master of Science in Business Analytics, the Business Analytics MBA and the AI MBA. He has also served as a Senior Visiting Scholar at the Reserve Bank of India’s Centre for Advanced Financial Research and Learning (CAFRAL) and as an International Faculty Fellow at the MIT Sloan School of Management.
According to the university, Professor Pungaliya will lead the FLAME School of Business and work towards strengthening its interdisciplinary and globally engaged approach to management education. His research has been published in journals including The Accounting Review, Management Science and the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis.
Announcing the appointment, FLAME University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dishan Kamdar said Professor Pungaliya’s experience in developing academic programmes, research and international collaborations would strengthen the business school and enhance the learning experience for students and faculty.
Professor Pungaliya said advances in data and artificial intelligence are reshaping business leadership and management education, adding that he aims to build a business school that combines disciplinary depth with interdisciplinary learning.
