Prayagraj: SP (Pratapgarh) Deepak Bhukar on Tuesday night suspended two escorting policemen on the charges of dereliction of duty after a rape accused managed to escape from their custody at SRN Hospital in Prayagraj.A man accused of raping a minor girl was arrested by Manikpur police on Sunday and was sent to jail on the next day. His DNA test was to be conducted on remand.An escorting police team had brought the rape accused at SRN Hospital (Prayagraj) for DNA test from Pratapgarh on Tuesday. However, the accused managed to give a slip to policemen -Madan Sharma and Anuj Kumar- and escaped. The two cops have been suspended.A joint team of Pratapgarh and Prayagraj police has been formed to nab the absconder, said police. Cops are scanning CCTV footage of the absconding accused. Three teams have been formed to nab the accused.
