Prayagraj: Pratapgarh police on Wednesday lodged an FIR under sections 190, 191(3), 131, 352, 351(3), 132, and 121(1) of the BNS against 10–12 unidentified men who had allegedly attacked a man identified as Gulzar Ahmed—an accused facing charges of kidnapping, rape, and offences under the POCSO Act — when police was taking him for medical examination on Tuesday.The accused was produced before the court and subsequently remanded in judicial custody. The police have decided to lodge an FIR against the miscreants who attempted to engage in unlawful conduct.A police officer said, “A group of 10–12 unidentified individuals tried to drag the accused out of the vehicle. Raids are being conducted to apprehend them.”
