Chandigarh: Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee president Rao Narender Singh met Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge in New Delhi on Tuesday and discussed the state’s political situation, organisational affairs and the party’s strategy for the coming months.Rao Narender Singh briefed Kharge on the organisational initiatives and public-interest programmes undertaken by the state unit over the last two months. He also apprised him of dharnas, protests and mass movements organised by the party on issues concerning people in Haryana.A key focus of the meeting was the three-month organisational roadmap drawn by the state Congress. The plan aims to strengthen the party organisation down to the booth level, mobilise workers and sustain public outreach and mass movements across the state.According to Rao Narender Singh, Kharge expressed satisfaction with the work undertaken by the Haryana unit over the last two months and appreciated its roadmap for the next three months. He stressed the need to further strengthen the organisation at the grassroots, keep workers actively engaged and consistently raise issues concerning the people.The HPCC chief said Kharge’s guidance and suggestions would give further momentum to the party’s organisational efforts in Haryana. He said the state unit would continue working to strengthen the organisation at every level and take up public issues through sustained programmes and outreach.The meeting comes as the Haryana Congress seeks to consolidate its organisational structure and intensify its grassroots activities following the 2024 assembly elections.
