Lucknow: Military personnel visiting Ram Temple in Ayodhya for ‘darshan’ will no longer have to approach the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. The Trust has authorised the Sainik Sadan at the Dogra Regimental Centre by issuing it a dedicated ID to generate ‘darshan’ passes for serving and veteran military personnel.Under the new arrangement, the Sainik Sadan will be able to issue up to 400 passes daily, comprising 300 Sugam Darshan passes and 100 VIP passes. These will be issued on the recommendation of authorised military officers.Earlier, military personnel, particularly those posted outside Ayodhya and visiting the temple, had to obtain passes through local military authorities who coordinated with the Trust. The process often involved verification delays and, at times, officials authorised to issue passes were unavailable.Military authorities recently met interim general secretary Krishna Mohan and requested a permanent mechanism to streamline the process. Following the discussions, the Trust decided to authorise the Sainik Sadan to issue Sugam and VIP ‘darshan’ passes. The arrangement does not apply to ‘Aarti’ passes, which will continue to be issued only on the recommendation of trustees under the existing rules.
