Nagpur: Around 600 students from 11 schools and colleges in Nagpur prepared handmade rakhis and sent them to soldiers stationed at Kamptee Cantonment on Raksha Bandhan as part of an initiative organised by Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP).The students also wrote around 100 handwritten letters in Marathi, expressing their respect, gratitude and good wishes to the armed forces. They thanked soldiers for their service and dedication to protecting the country.ABVP members said the initiative was aimed at helping soldiers feel connected to the community while away from their families during the festival.“Every year, on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, ABVP units across the country organise such initiatives to make soldiers feel at home and express respect towards them,” an ABVP representative said.The rakhis and letters were subsequently delivered to soldiers at Kamptee Cantonment. ABVP said the initiative is held annually to connect students with members of the armed forces and acknowledge their contribution to national security.
