Nagpur: Women and children below 12 years of age will be able to travel free on Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s Aapli Bus services on August 28 as the civic body’s transport department rolls out a special Raksha Bandhan initiative. The free-ride facility will be available throughout the day.The initiative aims to make festive travel easier for families and encourage citizens to use public transport while visiting relatives and loved ones on Raksha Bandhan.The initiative has been planned under the guidance of transport committee chairperson Mangala Khekare and other committee members, in coordination with the NMC transport department and the Chalo team.Officials said the initiative reflects the transport department’s efforts to make public transport more accessible and passenger-friendly for citizens.KEY DETAILS Occasion: Raksha Bandhan Date: August 28, 2026 Eligible passengers: Women and children below 12 years Offer: Free travel on Aapli Bus services Duration: Entire day
