Jaipur: Rajasthan’s talented archer Shyam Sundar Swami has been selected in the Indian para archery team by performing brilliantly and securing second place in the selection trials for the Asian Para Games to be held in Aichi and Nagoya, Japan from October 18 to 24, 2026.The selection trial was organised by the Archery Association of India in Sonipat, Haryana.Giving information, Rajasthan Archery Association’s general secretary Surendra Singh Gurjar said that the best para archers from across the country participated in the two-day selection trials, in which Rajasthan’s Shyam Sundar Swami performed excellently and secured second place and secured his place in the Indian team for the upcoming Para Asian Games.He said that Shyam Sundar will represent India in the Asian level competition for the third consecutive time, which is a matter of pride for the entire country including Rajasthan.On this occasion, Rajasthan Archery Association president Deependra Singh said that Rajasthan’s archers are continuously performing brilliantly at the national and international level. He said that the level of archery in the state is continuously touching new heights and the players are creating a new identity with their discipline, hard work and dedication.He also sent special congratulations to Shyam Sundar Swami’s coach Anil Joshi and said that the hard work and guidance of coaches play an important role in the success of players. He expressed confidence that Shyam Sundar Swami will bring glory to the country and Rajasthan by winning a medal for the Indian team in the upcoming Para Asian Games.The officials of Rajasthan Archery Association, players and sports lovers expressed happiness over the selection of Shyam Sundar Swami and wished him all the best.
