Jaipur: Rajasthan is making a bold pitch to position Jaipur as India’s next hub for Global Capability Centres (GCCs), combining competitive policy incentives, infrastructure development and private sector engagement. The centrepiece of this push is the Rajasthan Mandapam project, located near Jaipur airport. Planned with three GCC towers and 1.7 million sq ft of built-up space, the project is designed to embody the ‘live, work, play’ concept.ACS (Industries) and RIICO Chairman Shikhar Agrawal said, “The state govt has already unveiled one of the country’s most competitive GCC policies, offering the best set of incentives.”RIICO is acting as a catalyst for ecosystem development by facilitating transparent land allotment at subsidised rates through various schemes to attract global players. RIICO MD Shivangi Swarnkar said, “The Rajasthan Mandapam project also integrates hotels, residences, waterfront jogging tracks, museums, and cultural hubs, creating a lifestyle ecosystem that appeals to global talent.”She said RIICO is also engaging private developers to add another 2 million sq ft of workspace, ensuring availability for companies ready to move in. Industry leaders said Jaipur should focus on financial and hospitality GCCs, leveraging its legacy strengths.Saurabh Mehta, a GCC leader with global experience, said, “Rajasthan has a proven competence in finance and tech. The focus should be on attracting financial and tech GCCs to Jaipur, instead of trying to bring in every GCC from across the world.”However, he highlighted critical talent and infrastructure gaps that need to be addressed. “Foreign leaders will travel every month. For that, Jaipur needs strong flight connectivity and seamless commuting options,” Mehta added. Mid-sized GCCs, meanwhile, are looking beyond scale. With AI reshaping operations, the emphasis is on quality work and talent as infrastructure. Experts argued that Rajasthan should leverage its tourism and hospitality talent, reskill them with AI, and present Jaipur as a global destination for niche GCCs.
