Jaipur: The state govt has expanded its e-Mitra WhatsApp service to 103 govt services from 51, with citizens recording more than 2.32 lakh transactions so far.Services of departments including revenue, home, Jan Aadhaar, food and civil supplies, discoms, local bodies, education, public health engineering, social justice and empowerment and police are now available on the platform.The 103 services have been divided into four categories — 32 application services, 36 download services, six payment services and 29 status-check services.Department of information technology and communication secretary and commissioner Himanshu Gupta said the expansion fulfils the target announced in the 2025-26 Budget to provide more than 100 government services through e-Mitra WhatsApp.Launched on July 1, the service allows citizens to apply for certificates and new electricity connections, download documents, make utility payments and check application and complaint status through WhatsApp.Under the application category, citizens can apply for bona fide, caste and EWS income and asset certificates, as well as new electricity connections. They can also register electricity-related and police complaints.Officials said Jan Aadhaar cards, bona fide certificates, Jamabandis and ration card certificates were among the most-used services.The payment category includes electricity and water bill payments and EMI payments under Rajasthan Mahila Nidhi, among others.To use the service, citizens need to save 9461062705 on their mobile phones and send “Hi”, “Hello”, “eMitra” or “Team” on WhatsApp. They can then select the required service from the available options. The service is available in Hindi and English.Officials said the service aims to reduce the need for repeated visits to govt offices and allow citizens to access services from home in a simple, secure, transparent and time-bound manner.
