He noted that frequent atmospheric disruptions effectively suppressed the region’s typical late-spring temperature spikes.While the month featured sporadic heatwaves—pushing a single-day maximum to a scorching 44.2 degrees Celsius—regular rainfall intervals repeatedly broke the hot spells. Ludhiana led Punjab’s major cities in total monthly precipitation, logging 37.8 millimeters to outpace both Patiala and Amritsar.Meteorological officials predict the volatile weather pattern will persist into early June, with light rain expected to hold local daytime temperatures to a mild 34 to 35 degrees Celsius over the coming days.
