Ahmedabad: A man and his son were arrested with illegal liquor worth Rs 8.1 lakh after a police swoop on a rented bungalow on Science City Road on Monday night. Acting on a tip-off, a patrol team from Bodakdev police raided the house around 9.45pm and found Indian-made and foreign liquor concealed in bags kept under a staircase, in the refrigerator, in a bedroom, and a storeroom on the first floor.The search led to the seizure of 257 bottles of liquor, 48 beer cans and other alcoholic beverages, all allegedly stocked without a permit. The accused are a 56-year-old man and his 23-year-old son, both residents of Bodakdev. Preliminary investigation revealed that the duo had allegedly stored the liquor for illegal distribution in violation of the Gujarat Prohibition Act.
