New Delhi: The new deputy leader of AAP in Rajya Sabha, Ashok Mittal, on Thursday termed the removal of his predecessor Raghav Chadha as a normal process of the party having no specific reasons behind it.

Addressing a press conference, Mittal, who is a Rajya Sabha MP from Punjab, said that he has no knowledge about rumours that Chadha might join the BJP in the wake of being replaced as deputy leader in the House.

He, however, said that his predecessor will be given time to speak in the Rajya Sabha.

Earlier in the day, sources said AAP has sent a letter to the Rajya Sabha secretariat for the removal of Chadha and also for not allotting him time to speak from the party quota.

Mittal, however, said, “Everyone gets time to speak in our party; it is a democratic process. Raghav Chadha will also be given time to speak in the Rajya Sabha in the future.”

Mittal termed Chadha’s replacement as a normal process in the AAP and said that there was no specific reason behind it.
