Surat: Limbayat police arrested two men and recovered 12 stolen motorcycles, solving 10 cases. The accused, Moin Sultan (28) and Soyeb Shaikh (22), allegedly used AI and photo-editing apps to create fake RC books and sell the stolen vehicles.Police said the accused stole motorcycles from different parts of Surat and used AI tools to create RC books resembling govt-issued documents. They would then print the forged documents on PVC cards and sell the bikes, assuring buyers that the ownership would be transferred.The racket came to light when police stopped the duo during a vehicle-checking drive and asked them to produce the RC book of a motorcycle. On verifying the document through the e-GujCop app, police found that the vehicle had been reported stolen.During questioning, the accused allegedly confessed to stealing 12 motorcycles and forging their RC books. Police said they first used PhonePe to obtain the vehicle owner’s insurance details and the Vehicle Info app to gather additional information before preparing the fake documents.Police recovered 12 motorcycles worth around Rs 5 lakh from the accused. Cases have been registered against them at Limbayat, Godadara, Saroli, Puna and other police stations.
