Patna: With the 15-day deadline set by the local administration for vacating the official bungalow at 10, Circular Road having expired, former CM Rabri Devi has written to CM Samrat Choudhary, requesting a “comfortable room” for her husband and RJD chief Lalu Prasad at the newly allotted bungalow at 39, Hardinge Road.Lalu, who suffers from multiple health complications and underwent a kidney transplant in Dec 2022, recently returned from Singapore after a medical check-up.In her letter, Rabri said a separate room had been arranged for Lalu at the current residence because of his health condition and urged the state govt to provide a similar facility at the new bungalow. “Lalu ji faces the risk of infection due to which the doctors advised him to stay separate from the family. Given this situation, a separate room was constructed for him at the 10 Circular Road bungalow,” she stated in the letter. She added that the family could shift to the new residence if the necessary arrangements were made. The bungalow at 10, Circular Road, which has been the Rabri family’s residence for more than two decades, has now been allotted to BJP minister for dairy, fisheries and animal resources Nand Kishore Ram.On May 31, shortly after returning from Delhi, Rabri was served a 15-day eviction notice by a team of local administration officials. The notice came soon after she told mediapersons, “Ham khali nahin karenge (won’t vacate the bungalow),” and challenged the state govt to evict her by force.RJD spokesperson Shakti Singh Yadav said the new bungalow was not yet ready for occupation. “The letter was sent to the state govt through the Rabri office yesterday wherein it was requested to arrange for airy room for Lalu. Also there is no arrangement for staying for his security forces while other necessary facilities are also missings,” Yadav told TOI on Tuesday.Sources said Rabri has assured the family will shift to the new residence once all required arrangements are completed. The Samrat govt has issued eviction notices to Rabri on three occasions since the change in govt.
