New Delhi: PwC India has launched the Aspiring Women Leaders Scholarship to support women pursuing engineering degrees at select institutions, including IIT Bombay, IIT Kharagpur, NIT Tiruchirappalli, BITS Pilani and KIIT, as part of its efforts to strengthen women’s participation in the technology workforce.
The programme will initially cover eligible students entering the second year of BTech and BE courses at participating institutions, supporting them for the remainder of their degree. PwC India plans to extend the scholarship to first-year students in subsequent years. The initiative will also focus on women from modest economic backgrounds.
The scholarship will cover the full academic fees of selected students and provide laptops, mentorship, technical workshops, voluntary internships and pre-placement opportunities with PwC India, where eligible.
“India’s future depends on giving every young person the opportunity to realise their potential. We believe that creating more equitable pathways for women in technology is an important part of that future,” said Sanjeev Krishan, chairperson, PwC India.
Candidates will be selected through a multi-stage process involving eligibility screening, an online assessment and panel interviews conducted by PwC India leaders and external experts. Final selections will be made in consultation with the participating institutions.
Vivek Prasad, chief people officer, PwC India, said the scholarship reflects the company’s skills-first approach to talent development and its commitment to building a pipeline of women leaders in technology.
The initiative is part of PwC India’s Vision 2030, which focuses on enabling young people and developing a skilled, future-ready workforce.
