Ramgarh: Patratu Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (PVUNL), a subsidiary of NTPC Limited, has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO) to support the welfare and empowerment of differently-abled persons in and around Patratu.The MoA, aimed at improving quality of life and promoting self-reliance among persons with disabilities, was signed in the presence of PVUNL chief executive officer A K Sehgal, chief medical officer Dr Shipra Rani and head of human resources Ziaur Rahman.PVUNL said, under the agreement, it will organise an assessment camp in Patratu and nearby areas to identify needy differently-abled persons. Eligible beneficiaries will be registered at the camp and their requirements will be assessed. Based on medical assessment, assistive devices will be provided according to individual needs, helping them become more independent in daily life.The company said the initiative reflects its commitment to holistic development and social welfare of communities living around its operational areas. Through the programme, efforts will be made to connect Divyangjans with mainstream society by providing necessary support, improving mobility and enabling them to live with dignity and self-reliance.PVUNL, a joint venture of NTPC Limited and Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited (JBVNL), is developing the 4,000 MW Patratu Super Thermal Power Project in Ramgarh district in two phases. Two 800 MW units are operational. PVUNL said its CSR initiatives continue to promote inclusive and sustainable development and improve local community living standards across Patratu.
