Chandigarh: The Punjab BJP will organise the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ across the state from Sept 17 to Oct 17, marking the completion of 25 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s journey of public service.Giving details of the campaign, Punjab BJP president Kewal Singh Dhillon said the Prime Minister will complete 25 years in public service on Oct 7. During the month-long campaign, BJP workers will visit every village and household to spread the message of public service. He said 13 major programmes have been planned as part of the campaign.Dhillon said the Prime Minister’s journey began in 2001 as Gujarat chief minister, where he served three consecutive terms, and expanded to the national level after he became the Prime Minister in 2014. He said the development journey that began in Gujarat is now focused on building a developed India by 2047.He said the Centre has improved the lives of the poor, farmers and other needy sections through initiatives including Make in India, Digital India, Skill India, Startup India, Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Ujjwala, Ayushman Bharat, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Swachh Bharat, Jal Jeevan Mission and Kisan Samman Nidhi.Highlighting the Centre’s contribution to Punjab’s development and the Sikh community, Dhillon claimed that over the past 12 years, Modi govt has provided Punjab with more than Rs 17 lakh crore for roads, railways, agriculture and infrastructure.He added that historic steps such as the construction of the Kartarpur Corridor, celebration of the 550th Prakash Purab of Guru Nanak Dev, the 400th Prakash Purab of Guru Tegh Bahadur, the introduction of Veer Bal Diwas, and legal action against those accused in the 1984 anti-Sikh massacre have enhanced the pride of the Sikh community.
