Chennai: North Chennai, Porur and south-western suburbs such as Kundrathur will be the focus areas at the 18th edition of FairPro, a real estate property fair organised by the Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Association of India (CREDAI).CREDAI’s former president S Sivagurunathan, an adviser to this year’s event, said a majority of the developers are set to showcase their projects in these areas at the fair. “At least four major projects to come up in North Chennai will be showcased at the fair. Projects on the Porur–Kundrathur stretch and plots on ECR, OMR and GST Road will also be showcased,” he added.The fair will be held at the Chennai Trade Centre, Nandambakkam, for three days starting Friday. More than 80 Real Estate Regulatory Authority-approved (RERA) developers will showcase over 500 CMDA-approved projects in housing, commercial and plotted developments in and around Chennai at the fair. Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin will inaugurate the fair.Organisers said that the luxury housing segment—ranging from Rs 1 crore to Rs 2 crore—as well as the medium-range housing segment, ranging from Rs 45 lakh to Rs 70 lakh, are the most sought-after among buyers.More than 50,000 units—sprawling over 57.2 million sq ft—will be up for grabs at the fair for a price bracket starting from Rs 15 lakh, said Mothish Kumar, convenor of FairPro 2026. In 2025, when 77 developers participated, the footfall was 48,500 and business reached Rs 415 crore. State Bank of India has offered to provide housing loans at 7.10%, depending on the borrower’s CIBIL score.
