Prayagraj: Prof Uma Maheshwar Rao has assumed additional charge as the director of Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology, Prayagraj, following the directions issued by the Ministry of Education, govt of India. Prof Rao is currently serving as director of National Institute of Technology, Rourkela.Prof Rao expressed his commitment to strengthen the institute’s academic and administrative framework while promoting excellence in research, innovation and technical education. He said efforts would be made to further enhance the institution’s academic standards and build upon its rich legacy with the support of students, faculty members and staff.Highlighting the importance of quality education and cutting-edge research, Prof Rao said the institute would continue to focus on creating an environment that fosters innovation, skill development and industry-oriented learning. He also emphasised the need to achieve new milestones in academic and research activities.MNNIT Prayagraj welcomed Prof Rao on assuming the additional charge. The outgoing director, Prof RS Verma (who retired on June 14) welcomed the new officiating director.
