In a fresh development in the ongoing partition proceedings relating to the estate of the late Sunjay Kapur, Priya Kapur has approached the Delhi High Court seeking limited operational clarifications to ensure uninterrupted educational and maintenance-related payments for the children of actor Karisma Kapoor.
According to submissions made before the court, counsel appearing for Priya Kapur has filed a clarification application following the interim order passed on April 30, 2026. The application is described as purely operational in nature and seeks guidance on the continued functioning of certain bank accounts to meet ongoing obligations linked to education and overseas properties during the pendency of the proceedings.
The clarification sought relates to the payment of university and school fees of Samaira Kapur and Kiaan Raj Kapur, including boarding, lodging, and other education-related expenses abroad. It also covers recurring statutory and financial outgoes such as mortgage instalments, insurance, utilities and maintenance expenses associated with properties located in the United States and the United Kingdom.
The application points out that several of these payments—particularly university-linked expenses and property-related obligations—are operationally connected to foreign bank accounts maintained in the relevant jurisdictions, and require continuity to avoid disruption.
Crucially, Priya Kapur has clarified that the application does not seek any modification, dilution, review or vacation of the interim protections already granted by the court over the estate. It has been stated that all balances protected under the interim order will remain preserved, and the relief sought is limited to ensuring continuity of educational support for the children and routine overseas property-related payments.
The plea further notes that such clarification applications are routine in estate matters, especially where interim protective orders coexist with continuing maintenance and financial obligations.
The matter remains sub judice before the Delhi High Court.
