Prayagraj: Sleuths of STF (Prayagraj unit) on Tuesday night arrested a criminal carrying a Rs 50,000 cash reward identified as Ravi Pasi, a resident of Dhoomanganj who was wanted by Nawabganj police in connection with the ex-zila panchayat killing case. The accused was evading police action since August 2025. As many as 19 criminal cases are pending against him in different police stations of Prayagraj, Pratapgarh and Rai Bareilly.Police said that Ravi, along with his accomplices, in August 2025 had kidnapped and murdered an ex-zila panchayat member near Phaphamau and later placed his body on railway tracks near Bamrauli railway station to show it as a suicide case. His accomplices were arrested soon after the incident, but he managed to give the slip to police for 13 months.
