Patna: Patliputra University (PPU) on Thursday released its second merit list for admission to the four-year choice-based credit system (CBCS) undergraduate (UG) programme for the academic session 2026–30. Altogether 25,679 students have been shortlisted in the second merit list to take their admission in the colleges allotted to them, said PPU dean of students’ welfare ( DSW ) Rajeev Ranjan.According to Ranjan, candidates whose names appeared in the second list have been directed to visit the university website to verify their allotted colleges and complete the admission formalities within the stipulated deadline. The university has set July 5 as the last date for taking admission while document verification at respective colleges must be completed by July 6, he said, adding that the admission process will remain flexible, and in case of necessity, colleges may continue admissions on Sundays and public holidays to ensure that no eligible candidate is left out.In the first merit list, nearly 41,000 students were admitted to the UG Part 1 programme to regular course in arts , science and commerce streams. The university is offering around 1.25 lakh seats across its 26 constituent colleges, two government colleges, 54 affiliated colleges and 16 newly established Rajkiya degree colleges located in Patna and Nalanda districts of the state, DSW said adding that it was encouraging to find that students including girls have opted Rajkiya degree colleges as their first choice for pursue their studies in the UG programme .In addition the university administration has advised students to strictly follow deadlines to avoid cancellation of their candidature and ensure smooth completion of the admission process, he said. “The university has tentatively decided to start new UG Part I classes from July 15 onwards,” he added.
