Patna: Patliputra University (PPU) released its sports calendar for the academic session 2026-27 on Sunday, announcing that inter-college tournaments will be organised from Sept 1 to Oct 29. The university will conduct competitions in 19 sporting disciplines, with an entry fee of Rs 2,000 from each participating college.According to PPU registrar Abu Bakar, the university will organise the athletics meet on Sept 1 and 2. A N College, Patna will host the cricket tournament from Sept 3 to 6, while College of Commerce, Arts and Science, Patna will organise basketball competitions from Sept 7 to 9 followed by volleyball matches from Sept 10 to 11, he said .J D Women’s College, Patna will host ‘karate’ events on September 12 and 13 and taekwondo competitions on Sept 14 and 15. T P S College, Patna will conduct chess from Sept 16 to 18, while B D College, Patna will organise boxing events on September 19 and 20, Bakar said adding Ganga Devi Mahila College, Patna will host table tennis competitions on Sept 21 and 22.Maltidhari College, Naubatpur will organise ‘kabaddi’ matches from Sept 23 to 26. Ball badminton competitions will be held at J N L College, Khagaul from Sept 28 to 29. Sri Guru Gobind Singh College, Patna City will organise weightlifting from October 1 to 3, while R L S College, Bakhtiyarpur will host wrestling on October 5 and 6 and shooting on October 7 and 8, he said .A N S College, Barh will organise ‘rugby football’ matches on Oct 9 and 10 and football competitions on Oct 14 and 15 while S U College, Hilsa will host kho-kho matches from Oct 23 to 24.The tournament will conclude at Nalanda College, Biharsharif with badminton competitions on October 26 and 27, followed by judo events on October 28 and 29, registrar said adding the inter-college sports meet would provide a platform for students to showcase their talent in the inter-east zonal varsity competitions.
