Ranchi: A 25-year-old postgraduate student of a city-based institute was arrested on Monday for allegedly raping an intern in his hostel room in June, police said.Officer Kunal Kumar said the incident allegedly took place on June 28 and the case was transferred to the local police station after a zero FIR was lodged in a neighbouring state by the survivor. According to police, the intern had gone to the student’s hostel room to learn about psychometric test procedures when the accused allegedly offered her water laced with an intoxicating substance and raped her. Police said the survivor’s fear and mental trauma led to a delay in reporting the incident.
