Coimbatore: A total of 7,583 senior citizens and 1,692 persons with disabilities across 10 assembly constituencies in the district will exercise their franchise through postal voting from their residences on April 12, 13 and 14.The Election Commission has made all the arrangements for these voters who had applied under Form 12D by April 3 to cast their votes. The Election Commission has set up 168 dedicated teams, each headed by a poll officer and accompanied by a micro-observer, to visit the homes of eligible voters and collect their ballots.The distribution of teams across constituencies includes 22 teams in Mettupalayam, 15 in Sulur, 21 in Kavundampalayam, 15 in Coimbatore North, 20 in Thondamuthur, 12 in Coimbatore South, 15 in Singanallur, 18 in Kinathukadavu, 15 in Pollachi, and 15 in Valparai. Eligible senior citizens and persons with disabilities are requested to remain at home on the designated dates to facilitate postal voting.
