Hyderabad: Cops probing the recent drug bust at former BRS MLA Rohith Reddy‘s Moinabad farmhouse said they are trying to verify the bank transactions of the accused to ascertain if they were in touch with drug peddlers.“Since the accused are from different professions the team is trying to find out the purpose of the meeting and verify if they had a nexus with drug suppliers. They are checking since when the accused were absing drugs,” said a source. It was for this reason — and to know why Sharma opened fire at the security personnel — the police sought 10 days’ custody of three of the accused — Rohith Reddy, brother Ritesh Reddy, and Delhi-based businessman, Namith Sharma — a few days ago and submitted a petition at the Rajendernagar court. However, the accused contested police’s petition. A decision on the matter is expected on March 23. During the raid on March 14, EAGLE sleuths found liquor and drugs on the premises. Six of the 11 present there tested positive for drugs. In past three days, the alleged drug supplier Kaushik Ravi, along with six others, have appeared before the investigators.
