Hazaribag: Police on Sunday raided a restaurant on Canary Road under Korra police station limits in Hazaribag city after local residents complained that alleged illegal activities were being carried out under the guise of room service.Acting on specific information, a police team searched the entire establishment and detained one woman and two men for questioning. Their identities were not disclosed. The raid caused commotion in the locality as a large number of residents gathered outside the restaurant.Residents alleged that suspicious activities had been going on at the restaurant for a long time and had disturbed the atmosphere of the surrounding residential area. They said families in the neighbourhood had repeatedly raised concerns, but the situation did not improve.Korra police station officer-in charge Nemdhari Rajak said the raid was based on specific information. He said the three detained persons were being questioned and all aspects of the case were under investigation to ascertain the nature of the activities allegedly taking place at the restaurant.No FIR has been registered so far. Police said appropriate legal action would follow after the investigation. The restaurant has been temporarily closed pending inquiry, while residents demanded strict action if the allegations are found true.
